Welcome to Henfield Weather Station, powered by www.invectis.co.uk. The weather station is a Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus equiped with all the usual recording devices in addition to solar radiation, UV, soil moisture & soil temperature inputs. This website is experimental; it is normally uploaded at regular intervals although is not currently maintaining a 24/7 service.
The station is being upgraded with new sensors on [August 2020 tba] as some sensors had stopped working. Hopefully there should be no discontinuity in the data.
Data was last uploaded at 7:25 (local), 6:25 (UTC) on 27/04/25.
The station is located in a rural garden at 17 m above sea level, longitude 0° 16' 30" W, latitude 50° 56' 07" N.
Current barometric pressure is 1080.7hPa (Steady) and the forecast for the next 24 hours is: " Partly cloudy with little temperature change. "
The site is shielded to the south and northwest so wind readings from those directions may be affected. The wind is collected at 5m (not a standard WMO height). Soil moisture and temperature is recorded at a depth of 10 inches under partly shaded grass (which is subject to about 3 hours sunlight in the winter and around 6 hours in the summer). Soil moisture interpreted as 0 for saturated 200 for completely dry. Leaf wetness (to measure if prone to leaf mould if wet for long periods) 0 = dry; 15 = wet.
