- Happy days of the Grand cinema, Saturday morning pictures at the Odean cinema followed by three pence worth of chips at Mac Fish.
- Stokesburys fish ans chips.
- Victoria recreation ground.
- The National school at West Street. Priory Secondary Modern School for Girls.
- The donkey at Carisbroke Castle.
- Peticoat Lane picking blackberrys.
- The steam trains, Sunday School treats to Sandown. Oh the JOY of all the trucks and busy busy at Newport Railway Station.
- I remember that awful striped blazer the boys grammer in Lugley Street used to wear.
- My great grandfather was the publican at the now torn down public house The Trooper Inn.
- The joys of the American swing at Victoria Rec, and waving at the train going to Freshwater.
- Fishing for tiddlers in the Mill Stream.
- The wonderful carnivals and the silver and brass bands.
- The spotted windows to match your carnival programe.
- Dad working at the Post Office.
- Mr. Ablitt delivering coal with his horse and cart. Mr Moody and the milk cart.
- The sunday school where the Miss Stokesburys and Mr. Croucher taught.
- The Castle Cafe as a teenager and "those Teddyboys!"
- I returned for a visit in 1996 after leaving to emigrate in 1974 - OH JOY.There is no where in all the world like the I.O.W. Caulkheads for EVER!!!!!!!!!
