Isle of Wight Nostalgia - Ventnor Park - 2

Ventnor Park is situated to the South of Ventnor - it is sheltered by a ridge from the coastal path. An 18 hole putting green can be seen behind the chalet.

This Council-run putting green is always kept in immaculate condition despite its popularity - it is rarely as quiet as this on a sunny afternoon. This picture was taken on a Saturday - a quiet day on the Island as holidaymakers tend to arrive or depart.

Ventnor Park

Park Avenue which runs adjacent to the Park is attractive - many houses have beautiful gardens as can be seen in these next two pictures

The next two pictures were taken in 1992 - however in this timeless garden, it would be difficult to spot the difference from today.

Early July 2002, still before the main season, and the flower beds are almost in full bloom.

The war memorial.
