10 Because of its particularly mild climate, Ventnor was a fashionable watering-place in Victorian times. Like many others, this old inn was not purpose built, but a house adapted to fulfil the needs of those long-ago travellers. Under the sign of a Tudor Rose - sturdily English enough to suit Victorian tastes but pretty enough for the ladies too - it is to be found right in the centre of this old resort.
